Hoba Meteorite, right in the center
The surface of the upper part of the Hoba meteorite looks shiny,
as if polished. This is probably due to the natural formation of a
thin coating of secondary iron oxides (i.e. rust), which have been
"polished" by thousands of years of continuing rain and heat...
...and more recent visitors sitting or standing on the meteorite.
